Special Interest Circles

Discover Your Passion, Find Your Tribe
At WINGS, we believe in the power of shared interests to uplift, inspire, and connect.
Elevate your well-being by immersing yourself in a meaningful hobby! Our Special Interest Circles (SICs) are ground-up initiatives led by passionate volunteer leaders. These circles bring like-minded women together to learn, grow, and build lasting connections. Through peer-to-peer learning, they create a supportive space where women can truly thrive.

Led by volunteer leaders Lilly Kow, Poh Guat Eng, Jenny Lee, Foo Jee Lin, and Lucy Lim, Fun with Sudoku offers women a chance to sharpen their cognitive skills in a relaxed, engaging environment. Beyond mental stimulation, the activity fosters social connection and friendship, providing a regular time and space each week to unwind, connect, and grow together. Join them at WINGS every Monday from 11:30am to 1:00pm for a fun Sudoku session!

Also known as the SUGAR Club!
SUGAR stands for: Self-empowered, Unique, Gracious, Aware, Reflect
Led by volunteer leaders Betty Teo and Poon Moi Tian, SUGAR Club is a women’s empowerment walking group dedicated to enhancing the mind, body, and soul. The club fosters a supportive network of #womensupportingwomen and promotes overall well-being through regular walking sessions. Members work towards maintaining a healthy weight, improving cardiovascular fitness, strengthening bones, boosting muscle endurance, and enhancing balance. These walks also offer opportunities to practise mindfulness and connect with nature. In 2022, the club organised a Women to Women event, Our Golden Years, to encourage WINGS women to pursue an active and engaged retirement. With a vision to embrace the bonus years with grace, SUGAR Club’s mission is to inspire women to grow actively and meaningfully. Join them every Monday morning as they explore walking trails around Singapore—covering 8 to 10 km at a medium to fast pace—while building friendships and prioritising health together.

Led by volunteer leaders Brenda Lim, Yew Seok Wah, and Jean Ho, this group offers you the chance to find friends who are in it for the long run—at a slower, more sustainable pace. Running slowly helps build muscular strength and endurance while reducing strain on your joints. It’s also a great way to meet your weekly recommended exercise goals. So join the group, embrace a healthier lifestyle, and make new friends along the way! They meet every Tuesday evening from 6:15pm to 7:30pm for a slow run around the Bishan area.

Led by volunteer leaders Han Soon Lang, Amy Tan & Lynn Boh, the Musicals SIC is dedicated to musical theatre singing. It provides a space for members to explore the art of storytelling through music, combining vocal expression with theatrical elements, with guidance from WINGS trainer and Musicals SIC advisor Dezz Moey.

Led by volunteer leaders Lilian Yap and Ann Chua, Joyful Singers brings women together through multilingual songs and live performances. They regularly perform at nursing homes and have participated in larger stage events like the Healthy Women, Healthier Families Carnival in 2022 and National Celebration of Seniors in 2023. They also host sing-alongs for WINGS members on special occasions.
As part of their regular outreach, Joyful Singers perform at the following homes:
– Lion’s Home (Bishan): 1st Wednesday of even months
– Thye Hua Kwan SCC @ Kaki Bukit: 3rd Monday of odd months
– St. John’s Home: 1st Thursday of every month

Led by volunteer leaders Florence Phuah and Cheong Lai Siong, the Sunshine Chorale invites you to cultivate your vocal talents and build on the techniques learned in Dezz Moey’s vocal course. Designed for those who are passionate about singing and eager to improve, the group offers a supportive environment to learn and perform English pop songs in both small and large ensembles. Members also have the opportunity to bring joy to the community by volunteering to perform at nursing homes.

Led by volunteer leaders Lily Lim and Diana Teo, the Eco-Crafters SIC invites women to learn sustainable DIY arts and crafts using recycled and upcycled materials. Also known as the “Craftaholics,” the group bonds over a shared passion for creativity and enjoys crafting together to build meaningful social connections. They gather at WINGS every first and third Wednesday afternoon of the month to craft and connect!

Led by volunteer leader Maureen Gan, the Plant Pals SIC promotes physical and mental well-being through plant-related outdoor activities. This community of plant and sustainability enthusiasts organises curated outings to places like Gardens by the Bay, the Singapore Biodiversity Festival, and Republic Polytechnic. Activities include gifting plants, serving herbal drinks, and fundraising for WINGS through green initiatives. Join them in growing a greener future together!
